A well-established building envelope contractor delivering façade remediation and recladding schemes (including high-rise residential projects over 18m requiring Gateway approval) is looking to appoint a senior Façade Designer to assist with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) submissions and Gateway process. This is a compliance-led technical role. It’s ideal for a façade professional who understands systems and remediation, but prefers governance, coordination and regulatory submission over day-to-day CAD production.
The Role:
- You’ll be a key part of the project team, collaborating closely with client stakeholders to ensure the façade design aligns with the architect’s intent and the instructed scope of works, while remaining buildable, accurate, and compliant.
- Create detailed design drawings and specifications for façade elements.
- Produce 2D and 3D models, sketches, and technical drawings showing concepts, solutions, and installation details.
- Develop fabrication drawings ready for procurement and ordering.
- Compile project handover documents on completion, including O&M manuals.
- Liaise with manufacturers and project teams to ensure correct document control and distribution.
- Complete design risk assessments with the wider project team.
- Attend design meetings, workshops, and site visits to resolve design issues and track progress.
- Liaise with project engineers to ensure appropriate calculations are in place.
- Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, industry standards, and relevant guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- You’ll likely come from a façade/cladding technical background, with strong exposure to HRB compliance and submission work.
- Essential:
- Strong understanding of HRB projects (18m+).
- Background in façades, cladding, EWI, recladding or remediation.
- Strong written, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Technical qualification in Architecture, Building Technology, Façade Engineering (or similar).
- Experience supporting multiple projects and building internal compliance frameworks.
Why Apply?
Work in a specialist façade environment at the forefront of post-Grenfell remediation. Employee Owned Trust structure (long-term cultural and financial benefits).
