Role overview
Lead and deliver client-facing biomarker projects within a Core Labs programme, with a focus on developing and validating targeted assays (proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics) and ensuring high-quality delivery for clinical trial studies. This role combines hands-on scientific leadership in mass spectrometry, operational project delivery, quality/compliance awareness, and direct collaboration with external study teams.
Key responsibilities
- Lead client projects within the Core Labs programme and drive end-to-end scientific delivery.
- Validate targeted proteomic, lipidomic, and metabolomic assays to appropriate clinical standards (e.g., GCLP, CLIA).
- Design and execute complex experiments; analyse, interpret, and report data under limited supervision.
- Deliver biomarker study outputs for clinical trials in line with scope of work and sponsor timelines.
- Manage day-to-day operational activities across clinical biomarker projects.
- Support preparation and adherence to trial documentation (e.g., project protocols, data transmittal forms).
- Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Own and maintain key project processes and plans (e.g., project management, communication, escalation, risk plans) and keep records within relevant CTMS.
- Identify scope changes and work with internal teams to update work orders as requirements evolve.
- Prepare metrics and reporting for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Support pre-sales activity alongside commercial leadership by contributing to methodologies, procedures, and analytical pipelines.
- Create and contribute to SOPs for both the overall service and individual projects.
