Key responsibilities:
  • Provide full operational and strategic leadership across the children's residential home
  • Hold responsibility as the Ofsted Registered Manager and maintain inspection readiness at all times
  • Ensure the home consistently meets Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding expectations
  • Lead on referrals, placement decisions, admissions, and matching to ensure the right environment for each child
  • Create a high-performance culture through effective supervision, mentoring, and staff development
  • Oversee safeguarding practice, incident management, behavioural support, and risk reduction
  • Maintain clear oversight of care plans, case records, audits, and compliance documentation
  • Develop strong partnerships with local authorities, commissioners, therapists, education teams, and families
  • Manage budgets, resource planning, staffing structures, and occupancy levels effectively
  • Drive service quality, improvement planning, and preparation for Ofsted inspections
Requirements:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children & Young People's Services, or equivalent
  • Eligible to become registered with Ofsted
  • Strong management experience within a regulated children's residential setting
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and children's residential legislation
  • Experience leading teams within complex or multi-agency care environments
  • Confident using digital care systems, audit processes, and performance reporting tools
  • Able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of care and compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, leadership credibility, and a child-centred approach
Benefits:
  • £55,000 - £70,000 salary
  • Opportunity to lead a high-profile service in one of the UK's most active care markets
  • Work within an established organisation partnered with recognised providers and stakeholders across London
