We are hiring an experienced Children's Registered Manager to take the lead on a children’s residential home in London. This is a senior appointment for a strong, child-focused leader who can combine regulatory excellence with commercial awareness, team leadership, and high-quality service delivery in a fast-moving care environment.

About the role
As Registered Manager, you will hold full responsibility for the leadership, compliance, and overall performance of the home. You will ensure the service operates in line with all regulatory expectations while also creating a positive culture for both young people and staff. This is a highly visible role requiring sound judgement, emotional resilience, and the ability to lead confidently in a complex and regulated setting.
Key responsibilities
- Provide full operational and strategic leadership across the children’s residential home
- Hold responsibility as the Ofsted Registered Manager and maintain inspection readiness at all times
- Ensure the home consistently meets Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding expectations
- Lead on referrals, placement decisions, admissions, and matching to ensure the right environment for each child
- Create a high-performance culture through effective supervision, mentoring, and staff development
- Oversee safeguarding practice, incident management, behavioural support, and risk reduction
- Maintain clear oversight of care plans, case records, audits, and compliance documentation
- Develop strong partnerships with local authorities, commissioners, therapists, education teams, and families
- Manage budgets, resource planning, staffing structures, and occupancy levels effectively
- Drive service quality, improvement planning, and preparation for Ofsted inspections
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services, or equivalent
- Eligible to become registered with Ofsted
- Strong management experience within a regulated children’s residential setting
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and children’s residential legislation
- Experience leading teams within complex or multi-agency care environments
- Confident using digital care systems, audit processes, and performance reporting tools
- Able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of care and compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills, leadership credibility, and a child-centred approach
