We are recruiting an experienced Children's Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential service in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and compassionate leader to take ownership of a regulated home, build a strong team culture, and deliver safe, consistent, and outcome-led care for children and young people. This role would suit a manager who is passionate about developing people, embedding strong residential practice, and creating a stable home environment where both children and staff can thrive. You will join a provider with a growing presence in the North West and a clear commitment to quality, safeguarding, and long-term service development.
As a Children's Registered Manager, you will oversee the full running of the home, with responsibility for compliance, team leadership, safeguarding, and care quality. You will set the tone for the service by building a positive and accountable culture, maintaining high standards, and ensuring young people receive structured, supportive, and child-centred care.
Key responsibilities:- Lead the day-to-day management of a children’s residential home
- Take responsibility as the Ofsted Registered Manager
- Ensure the service operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements
- Build, motivate, and develop a capable residential team through supervision, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee care planning, key-working practice, behaviour support, and risk management
- Monitor the quality of records, reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation
- Manage staffing, rotas, absence, and team structure to ensure safe and effective service delivery
- Work closely with social workers, families, education teams, and wider professionals involved in each child’s care
- Use audits, action plans, and internal quality systems to maintain standards and drive improvement
- Create a warm, structured, and nurturing environment that promotes stability, progress, and positive outcomes
