Offsite MEP | Decarbonisation | Energy Centres | District Heating
Build the future of low-carbon building services
Are you the kind of Mechanical Design Engineer who gets excited by complex plantrooms, heat pumps, energy centres and design that actually gets built? This is not a “design in isolation” role. You’ll be joining a specialist offsite MEP and low-carbon building services business delivering major decarbonisation, modular plantroom, district heating and commercial MEP projects across the UK and beyond.
You’ll take the lead on mechanical design from early-stage concept through detailed design, fabrication support, installation interface and commissioning input.
What you’ll be working on:
- Heat pumps, ASHP, WSHP and low-carbon heating systems
- Energy centres, packaged plantrooms and modular MEP solutions
- LTHW, DHW, pump sets, thermal stores, calorifiers and heat exchangers
- BIM-led coordination, DFMA and offsite fabrication
- Public and private sector projects across healthcare, education, commercial estates, data centres and district heating
What we’re looking for:
You’ll likely be a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer or a strong Senior Mechanical Design Engineer ready for a bigger technical leadership role. You’ll bring:
- Strong mechanical building services design experience
- Heat pump, district heating, energy centre or decarbonisation exposure
- Confidence producing and reviewing calculations, schematics, specifications and plant selections
- Understanding of BMS/control strategies and commissioning interfaces
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and support technical quality
- A practical mindset around buildability, fabrication and site delivery
Why this role is different:
This is a chance to work inside a business that combines design, manufacture and delivery. Your work will not disappear into a report. It will become real plantrooms, real heat networks and real low-carbon infrastructure. If you want a role where mechanical design meets practical engineering, offsite delivery and decarbonisation impact, this is one to look at.
