We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Chorley. This is a full-time, long-term position with an immediate start, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and make a real impact within a thriving music department.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5 depending on experience). You will encourage creativity, performance, and a love of music, supporting students of varying abilities to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach practical and theoretical elements of Music
  • Support students’ musical development through performance, composition, and listening
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community and department
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Experience teaching Music at secondary level
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Passionate about Music education and student development
  • Able to commit to a full-time, long-term role
