The Head Teacher of a Village School in Kendal is looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible on a long‑term basis. This is a very proud Christian School situated in beautiful grounds surrounded by hills, fields and trees. The school values friendship, respect, compassion, thankfulness, courage and service are at the heart of everything they do.

This role will encompass whole‑class support in Year 6 and 1‑to‑1 support for a Year 6 child with SEND.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in‑class support to teachers and pupils across all years in Primary Schools
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Promote and support positive behaviour strategies across the classroom
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with primary‑aged children
  • Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Experience covering classes
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to get one)
