We are currently seeking a specialist Chemical Kinetics Teacher to support a secondary school in the Kendal area. This is a long-term role, with teaching taking place on Thursdays, ideal for a subject specialist looking for consistent, ongoing work.
The Role
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in Chemical Kinetics, supporting students to develop a strong understanding of reaction rates, factors affecting kinetics, and practical applications within Chemistry. Teaching will primarily be at Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Chemical Kinetics lessons
- Teach both theoretical and practical elements of Chemistry
- Plan lessons in line with the national curriculum and exam specifications
- Assess, track, and support student progress
- Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with the Science department and wider school team
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry, particularly Chemical Kinetics
- Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Chemistry
- Confident classroom management skills
- Reliable and able to commit to teaching every Thursday
