One of our local community primary schools in the BB2 Blackburn area is looking to recruit a proactive and supportive Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming team. This role is to support on a 1:1 basis in a Year 3 class within SEMH support needs. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 9am to 3:30pm. The school has a strong focus on inclusive learning and pupil development, with a supportive staff team and a positive learning environment, making it an excellent opportunity for a Primary Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a school setting.

Primary Teaching Assistant role requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
- Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting
- Understanding of the primary curriculum
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, proactive and supportive approach
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and have an understanding and experience of supporting pupils who have a range of SEMH
- Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Encourage pupil engagement and participation
- Support behaviour management using positive strategies
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
