The Role:
- To control and drive the sales activities within a specified area UK & Ireland to ensure the achievement of budgeted sales targets and taking an active role in the sales process.
- Develop strategies and plans for new business opportunities.
- Develop new business opportunities.
- Plan, direct and drive the sales activities within the specified area.
- Prepare detailed sales forecasts and advise on sales management strategies to achieve targets, interpret results and take corrective actions to achieve the sales targets.
- Contribute to the development of the marketing plans and recommend modifications to the marketing strategies considering trends.
- Be the voice of the customer and represent the customer internally.
- Coordinate and action the sales budget and regional business plans.
- Using company Business System Tools, prepare and submit a detailed Sales Action, Request for special products and service as required by the customer(s).
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure timely and on the budget delivery of special projects for customers in assigned territory.
- Manage the customer expectations on sales project progress and the final delivery of machine.
- Prepare own quotations for the standard product range, applying the company’s calculations rules.
- Conduct price negotiations for machines, software, aftermarket products and 3rd party accessories.
- Know to segment the customer base and define priorities.
- Work closely with Global Key Account Manager to maintain relationships to regional Key Account sites.
- Report on competitive activities and customer trends.
- Define the regional customer buying behaviour and implement strategies that would benefit the business.
- In cooperation with Marketing, coordinate and conduct sales promotions and market research.
- Execute special marketing projects and programs.
- Support trade shows and symposiums.
Requirements:
- Technical background in machine tools or cutting tools.
- Broad experience in all dealings with customers.
- Technical selling.
- Negotiation skills in competitive environment.
- Focused and highly driven to achieve agreed targets.
- Demonstrate a flexible and “can do” attitude.
- Interface between customer and the Company.
- Demonstrates PC Skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- “Outgoing” personality with solid verbal and written communication skills.
