Risk Business Partner

The Risk Business Partner provides proactive support to the business by making sure operational risks are properly identified, understood, and managed in line with the KR Group Risk Management Framework. The role works closely with key stakeholders to build a strong risk culture, strengthen controls, and provide assurance to support informed and responsible decision‑making. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, a strong communicator, and experienced in risk management, audit, assurance, or similar control‑focused work. The successful candidate will be professional, use good judgement, and be able to influence and support stakeholders at all levels.

Main Role & Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the analysis, identification and evaluation of operational risks across the business ensuring risks are clearly articulated, accurately assessed, and aligned with the KR Group’s appetite.
  • Support the business with maintaining up‑to‑date and accurate risk registers, ensuring the completeness, consistency and quality of entries, and producing clear and insightful risk reporting as required.
  • Contribute to the direction, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the KR Group Risk Management Framework, supporting consistency of approach across the Group.
  • Ensure business areas understand their risk profile and assist them in managing risks within the KR Group Board’s approved appetite.
  • Coordinate and support the management of risk events, ensuring timely capture, investigation, analysis of root causes, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide practical interpretation, application and mitigation of risk, offering proportionate and proactive solutions that reduce recurring issues.
  • Develop strong, supportive relationships with key stakeholders, enabling productive challenge, promoting risk awareness, and helping embed an effective and forward‑looking risk culture.
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of existing controls and provide recommendations to strengthen the overall control environment.
  • Deliver risk assurance reviews, ensuring work is carried out to a high standard, issues are clearly communicated, and actions are practical and proportionate.
  • Support the production of risk‑based information that informs business decisions and provides assurance to the KR Group Board and the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee.

  • Confident in facilitating discussions, workshops and risk assessments.
  • Proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive positive change.
