Night Shift Warehouse and Forklift Operatives Wanted: Overview: We are seeking reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative and Forklift Drivers (Counterbalance and or Reach) to work night shifts Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient materials manual handling, operating forklift trucks, and supporting warehouse management activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise forklift driving and warehouse experience in a controlled environment, ensuring smooth storage and delivery and receiving operations. You will be working in a yard environment outdoors all-weather conditions, which will require a paced workload, lifting, and carrying of heavy materials and products, throughout the night, loading and picking orders until all are completed, which is why you could work up to 5am. Core Hours: 4pm till midnight (with overtime rate covering up to 5am), 40-hours minimum per week, but you will be expected to work until job is finished which could be 2:30am or 5am, Monday to Friday. Hourly Pay Rate: Β£14.45 (overtime rate is time and a half). Based just outside of Southampton, you could get a train or bus to work but you might struggle with the return journey if you do not have a car, motorbike, scooter, or push bike. Responsibilities: Operate counterbalance forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. Assist with materials handling, including stacking, organising, and moving stock as required. Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing orders for dispatch and receipt of deliveries. Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS). Load and unload vehicles. Assist with stock organisation, inventory counts, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Support warehouse team with general duties such as packing, labelling, and order picking. Experience: Proven experience operating counterbalance forklift trucks (valid counterbalance forklift license or in-house training certificate is essential). Familiarity with warehouse management systems. Knowledge of materials handling techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over a long shift, pacing your workload to avoid burnout. Previous warehouse picking and yard operative experience, used to working in an outdoor environment. Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written). Must be able to work Monday to Friday until all jobs are finished. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to safety standards, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The ideal candidate will be organised, mechanically inclined, and capable of managing physical demands associated with heavy lifting and equipment operation.
