My client specialises in the design and manufacture of electrical and RF cable assemblies, as well as the distribution of RF cables, connectors, and associated components. Products are often bespoke and supplied to industries where quality, reliability, and traceability are essential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Production Communication & Support: Act as the main point of contact for production queries, ensuring issues are communicated promptly to Inspection. Provide daily support to production teams, assisting with operational issues and maintaining workflow continuity.
- Documentation & Data Management: Process and maintain F29 forms, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely updates. Manage Manufacturing Build Instructions (MBIs), including typing, formatting, and uploading handwritten and electronic documents to the system. Maintain accurate, auditable records within the Production Management system to support quality and compliance.
- Inventory & Stock Control: Ensure unused or excess stock is returned to stores to support lean manufacturing. Issue stock for project-specific use via CIM Manufacturing. Update BOM requests (F29) within CIM Manufacturing as required. Monitor production sundries and elevate shortages where necessary.
- Tool & Equipment Management: Manage the tool cupboard, ensuring accurate tracking of tools in and out. Ensure tools are properly stored and available to support production efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Conduct weekly COSHH cupboard checks to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Ensure all materials and substances are stored and handled in line with COSHH and company procedures.
- System & Process Management: Maintain and update location data within the Production Management system to ensure traceability and stock accuracy. Raise Non-Conformance Incident Reports (NCIRs) within CIM Manufacturing, ensuring issues are recorded, investigated, and tracked.
- Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Monitor job timings and production performance, identifying inefficiencies or delays. Report timing issues to the Project Manager and Production Manager. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (essential), ideally within cable assembly, electronics, or precision engineering.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., CIM Manufacturing) is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Time and Motion studies or process efficiency analysis.
- Knowledge of RF, electrical components, or cable assembly processes.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
