Job Title:

Mechanical Fitter

07.00am – 4.00pm Monday – Thursday 07.00am – 12.00 Friday 39 hours

Basingstoke

Reporting to: Workshop Foreman

This role reports into the Workshop Foreman and is to assemble and fit various processing machinery as specified via mechanical design in accordance with good engineering and manufacturing practices. This would be across our range of new, used and hire machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

? To assemble new equipment and machinery in accordance with instructions, engineering drawings and BOMs

? To strip down, clean, overhaul as required and re assemble hire and used equipment and machinery ? Manufacture components as required from time to time, some will require a make on assembly approach ? Use of appropriate hand held and powered tools and equipment as necessary in the execution of the tasks ? Use of equipment where competent for welding, finishing, polishing etc. ? Work to written and verbal manufacturing instructions and complete manufacturing documentation as required and directed ? Liaise with supervision, and other staff as necessary to ensure efficient and effective build sequencing and to advise on any shortages or opportunities for improvement ? Maintain a clean and orderly workplace environment compatible with a busy open workshop environment ? Be prepared to attend customer sites from time to time (domestically and internationally) to perform repair and service activities ? Undertake other activities to assist in other areas as directed from time to time

Skills & Experience: ? Ideally apprentice served, or trained and educated in mechanical engineering

? A minimum of 5 years experience in assembling mechanical equipment and machinery

? Capable and confident in working with minimal supervision

Educational Qualifications:

Minimum academic level required:

City & Guilds Craft NVQ Level 2 / 3 – Engineering

Ideal academic level preferred: As Above Professional Qualifications: NA Mobility Requirements: (requirement for national/international travel, overseas assignments) Driving licence, passport and a willingness to travel undertake occasional short term site assignments.
