The position involves extensive international travel, and flexibility is expected from the post holder.
Job Title
Field Service Engineer
Location
United Kingdom - Southampton Workshop, with expectation to travel to company’s other workshops worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Servicing and repair of exhaust gas turbochargers.
- Working on turbochargers installed in ships of all sizes and at land-based power plants.
- Minimising downtime is critical. There will be times when the engineer will be required to work on a job for a sustained period to meet the customer’s needs.
- Working in the company’s workshop and live within commuting distance.
- About the Person
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a marine engineering position
- A minimum of two years of experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB/Accelleron, MAN or MET (essential)
- Experience of working on new generation turbochargers (desired)
- A problem solver and capable of working independently
- Prepared to spend periods of time away from home, including weekends with a flexible and positive attitude to work
- Experienced in using measuring equipment, recording results and comparing against expected data
- Excellent written and spoken English with report writing skills
- To hold a valid driving licence.
