Quality Engineer Rolling Contract 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday 37.5 hours •Areas of Responsibilities The primary function is to act as a qualified Quality Professional and technical expert within the Process Focused Team, driving Quality System policies, Quality Operating System requirements and Business System principles. The role provides strong customer and supplier quality support, leads structured problem solving, supports audit readiness, manages non-conformance activity, and drives measurable improvements in product quality, process capability, customer satisfaction and cost of poor quality. Customer facing is key to this role and working closely with the customer Supplier Quality personnel to solve any issues and customer requirements. • The Quality Engineer is expected to be a structured problem-solving lead, using DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto analysis and other quality tools to lead cross-functional investigations. An important feature of the position is ownership of quality performance within the Process Focused Team, ensuring containment, corrective actions, preventive actions, documentation updates and effectiveness checks are completed in a timely and robust manner. • Lead structured problem solving for internal, supplier and customer issues using DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto and other recognised quality tools. The Quality Engineer drives the problem-solving process, ensuring that problem statements, data collection, containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions and effectiveness checks are factual, appropriate and completed on time. This includes managing and supporting SAP Q2 and Q3 quality notifications, QIR activity where applicable, and the update of prevention documents such as PFMEAs, Control Plans, SOPs and training material. Support Process Focused Team and Functional Lean activities, including Quality Operating System updates, quality metric reviews, daily prioritisation of quality actions, layered process checks, audit actions and continuous improvement activities. This requires a team approach, strong ownership, disciplined follow-up and the ability to balance urgent containment activity with longer-term prevention, standardisation and improvement work. Qualifications: HNC/HND level education or equivalent experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. At least 2 years in a Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance or similar technical quality role within a manufacturing environment. • Proven experience in structured problem solving, root cause analysis, containment planning and corrective/preventive action management, preferably using 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa methods. • Experience working with customer complaints, supplier non-conformances, SAP quality notifications, • A good understanding of quality tools and principles, including Cpk, MSA, Cause and Effect, Pareto, Process Mapping, Lean, PFMEA, Control Plans, Sampling Plans, APQP, PPAP, ISO9001:2015, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, SAP Q2/Q3 notifications and QIR
