A hybrid commercial and technical role focused on driving forklift truck sales growth across the UK while also providing hands-on engineering support in the early stages of development. The position combines key account management, dealer development, market analysis, and field-based technical support within the material handling sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a UK sales strategy to achieve growth targets
- Identify, win, and manage new business opportunities and key accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners
- Develop and support a UK dealer network, including training and product support
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand
- Produce market insights to support business and product decisions
- Carry out hands-on forklift diagnostics, servicing, and repairs (initial phase)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on-site and in workshops
- Provide technical support to customers and dealers to reduce downtime
- Support product development by feeding back market and customer insights
- Work with manufacturing teams to ensure product suitability for the UK market
- Assist in launching new products and supporting aftersales development
Skills & Experience
- Experience in B2B sales within industrial equipment or heavy machinery
- Strong technical background in forklift trucks or similar equipment
- Understanding of the UK material handling/logistics market
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
