We produce marketing leading magazines, books, bookazines and digital content across aviation, transport, history and modelling.
We are now looking for a commissioning editor to work within our bookazine division. The successful candidate will take on the role of commissioning editor and the responsibility of planning and commissioning over 100 bookazines every year on a variety of subject matters, that will range from aviation, transport, history, music to health & wellbeing.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Research and develop ideas for traditional and non-traditional bookazines
- Create briefs for each bookazine
- Source the editor for each bookazine
- Agree the standard amount of words and pictures for each bookazine with the freelance editor
- Agree the schedule with the freelance editor and the Publisher
- Work with our Accounts Department, Distribution, and the Publisher to ensure the financial viability of each bookazine
- Set and agree the budget for each bookazine with accounts and the Publisher
- Handle negotiations with the freelance editor
- Ensure the quality and range of authors' material
- Ensure all bookazines are profitable
- Achieve the agreed annual revenue budget
