Due to company growth, we are looking for an experienced Manual Horizontal Borer / Milling Machinist with experience operating large manual machines to join our production environment. We are looking for an individual who has experience working with vertical and/or horizontal borers.

The Company: World Leaders in welding and robot manipulation. Able to provide bespoke solutions to a World Class Customer Base. We design and manufacture high precision mechanical products for use in the production of wind turbines, the nuclear and defence sectors, general engineering, and oil and gas industries. Our machining is working mainly with ferrous but some non-ferrous metals, working to high precision tolerances. Progressive forward thinking and expanding due to growth.
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a precision engineering background. You will need to have experience in one or more of the following:
- Manual horizontal borer – setting and machining of large fabrications and components. Operations include milling, drilling/tapping and boring to some tight tolerances.
- Manual vertical planer – setting and machining of large fabrications and components.
- Manual vertical borer.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Work as part of a team or by themselves, setting and operating manual machines, vertical and horizontal borers.
- Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Use height gauges, micrometres and vernier’s to accurately measure finished parts.
- Be performing quality checks and inspections.
- Be machining precision components to tight tolerances.
- Be safety minded and ensure good quality workmanship that upholds company standards.
Essential attributes:
- Honesty and reliability.
- Familiarity to working in a precision engineering manufacturing environment.
Monday – Thursday 8am - 5pm. Friday 7:30am - 4pm. Holiday entitlement – 20 days + 8 bank holidays (+1 birthday holiday). The company has a shutdown over the Christmas period.
