The role reports directly to the Global Head of Channels. The Strategic Partner Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimising strategies with allocated key partners (predominantly referral), working closely with our partner and sales teams to develop strong and multi-level relationships, aimed at expanding our market reach and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of channel sales, partner relationship management, and strategic partner development, certainly within the Communications and IT industry and ideally within fintech. The focus will initially be the UK market, but quite quickly will also include the USA and so some flexibility to accommodate the difference in time zone will be required, along with possible visits to partners in the USA.

Location: Onsite at Doncaster, UK office/Home working Hybrid; plus travelling to partner/customer sites when required to further business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify and recruit new partners that fit our referral or reseller profile.
  • Identify, nurture and manage a portfolio of partners to grow joint business.
  • Develop and execute account planning to expand and strengthen those partnerships, resulting in mutual success and growth.
  • Educate and motivate the partner portfolio to uncover new opportunities and drive those to profitable won business.
  • Attend industry shows with the objective of identifying and recruiting new partners that fit our referral or reseller profile.
  • Hit and exceed sales targets in line with the business’ objectives.
  • Conduct a regular reporting cadence with each managed channel to ensure the partnership stays on track, driving the agenda to focus on Key IVR’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with the partner team and marketing to deliver training programs and sales materials for partners.
  • Gain strategic support from the partner’s management to sponsor Key IVR sales and marketing activity to promote and drive joint business.
  • Ensure partners are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively sell our solutions.
  • Drive partner’s teams to deliver results to exceed targets and assist with closing business when required.
  • Monitor partner performance and provide ongoing support to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Conduct regular contact and updates with the partner’s teams to maintain mindshare.
  • Be a dynamic part of each partner’s team bringing new ideas and best practice.

Strategic Planning and Reporting:

  • Keep abreast of fintech and payment market trends to identify developments and initiatives that would generate opportunities for the partnerships.
  • Develop and implement partner account planning strategies aligned with Key IVR business objectives.
  • Analyse partner performance data to refine and optimise partnership approaches.
  • Facilitate regular communication and reporting to/with the partner’s management to secure ongoing stakeholder support and involvement.
  • Attend external events to both seek new channel relationships and support existing partners.

Essential Skills and Background:

  • 5+ years of experience in partner management, channel sales, and strategic alliances.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a diverse partner network.
  • Strong understanding of the software channel landscape, including VARs, SIs, referrers, and consultants.
  • Results-oriented and a self-starter with a drive for professional excellence.
  • Demonstrated clear communication, sound negotiation ability, and an aptitude for building professional relationships.
  • Ability to analyse data and derive actionable insights to drive partnership success.
  • Possess a strategic innovative mindset with the ability to meet challenges and overcome objections.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
