Support Worker Location: Telford (TF2) Hours: 30.5 hours per week, flexible across 09:00–20:30 Salary: Β£12.85 per hour (Point 1) Start Date: ASAP Positions Available: 1 About the Role We are recruiting a Support Worker to join a community-based mental health service in the Telford area. You will work closely with adults who require support to maintain their wellbeing, build confidence, manage their tenancy and develop independence. Your role is centred around forming warm, trusting relationships and promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. You will support service users both within their homes and the wider community, offering practical, emotional and recovery-focused assistance. Key Responsibilities * Build and maintain warm, trusting relationships to help individuals express their needs and concerns * Promote dignity, privacy, independence and emotional wellbeing * Follow Individual Support Plans and respond flexibly to changing needs * Support service users with tenancy management, home safety, hygiene and comfort * Act as a positive role model in the home and wider community * Encourage engagement with social, leisure, education and wellbeing activities * Support with budgeting and financial management * Assist individuals in developing daily living skills and coping abilities * Monitor and report changes in mental health or wellbeing * Support individuals to access healthcare services and maintain appointments * Work within risk management guidelines and escalate concerns appropriately * Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and support plans * Carry out domestic tasks and personal care support where required * Support people with mobility needs, including wheelchair use or hoist assistance Person Specification We are looking for someone who can demonstrate: * A warm, engaging and person-centred approach * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to build trust and support people with mental health needs * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Emotional resilience and a calm response in crisis situations * Reliability, good timekeeping and a strong work ethic * Professional conduct when liaising with families and other agencies * Commitment to equality, dignity and anti-discriminatory practice * Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts * Experience in supported accommodation or mental health support (desirable) * NVQ Level 2+ in Health & Social Care (desirable) Hours * 30.5 hours per week * Shifts available 7 days a week between 09:00–20:30 * Flexibility required Salary * Β£12.85 per hour (Point 1) Apply Today If you’re passionate about supporting individuals with mental health needs and want to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
