About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a children’s residential home providing care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and associated complex needs. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the home operates in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations, while delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Support Workers
- Ensure practice aligns with the Quality Standards, including:
- Leadership and Management
- Protection of Children
- Care Planning and Outcomes
About You
- Experience working in a children’s residential setting (EBD / SEMH / LAC)
- Proven experience in a Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager role
- Strong understanding of:
- Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
- Ofsted Quality Standards
- Safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support
Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Willingness to work towards Level 5 (if not already held)
Desirable:
- Experience supporting inspections
- Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent training
- Full UK driving licence
