We are working with a well-established care provider seeking agency Cook / Chefs to support with ad hoc shift cover. This is a key role within the home, responsible for delivering nutritious, home-cooked meals that meet the needs of elderly residents.
The Role:
- Prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals for residents daily
- Cater for a range of dietary requirements including soft diets, allergies, and cultural preferences
- Plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and resident needs
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness (EHO compliant)
- Manage stock, ordering, and kitchen organisation
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (care home or similar environment preferred)
- Knowledge of dietary requirements within elderly care (e.g. IDDSI, allergens)
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum)
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- A genuine interest in working within a care environment
