The predicted salary is between 12 - 16 £ per hour.

Location: Swinton (M27)

Hours: Shifts available 7 days a week between 07:00–22:30 (sleep-ins included)

Salary: £12.60 per hour (Point 1)

About the Role

We are recruiting Female Support Workers to join a service in the Swinton area supporting adults with complex learning disabilities and physical health support needs. You will be part of a warm, values-driven team delivering flexible, person-centred support to people living in their own tenancies.

Your work will focus on promoting independence, dignity, emotional wellbeing and inclusion within the community. This is a busy, active service – ideal for someone energetic, compassionate and resilient.

Much of the role reflects the responsibilities listed in the job description, including developing warm relationships, promoting wellbeing, supporting daily living skills, and enabling community participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful personal care, emotional support and practical assistance
  • Support people with moving and handling, mobility needs and complex physical support
  • Enable individuals to maintain safe, hygienic, comfortable homes
  • Support service users to develop social skills, daily living skills and independence
  • Assist individuals to participate confidently in the local community
  • Work positively with behaviours that challenge using agreed strategies
  • Ensure dignity, privacy and choice at all times
  • Collaborate with families, colleagues and external professionals
  • Follow person-centred support plans and respond flexibly to changing needs
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and support planning
  • Work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-ins
  • Provide positive role modelling and uphold professional values

Essential Requirements

  • Female applicants only (due to service-user needs)
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities
  • Training in Dysphagia, Epilepsy, Moving & Handling, Personal Care
  • Ability to work a busy, active role requiring time on your feet
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a consistent team
  • Emotional resilience and a calm response to complex needs
  • Commitment to person-centred values, dignity and safeguarding

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience with complex behaviours
  • Ability to support people with mobility aids
