Are you an experienced leader within children’s residential care looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting for a Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and compliance are consistently maintained. You will lead and develop a stable staff team while creating a nurturing and structured environment that promotes positive outcomes for children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Overall management of the residential home
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Lead safeguarding practices and promote child welfare
- Manage and develop staff performance, supervision and training
- Maintain high standards of care planning, risk management and documentation
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and external professionals
- Manage rotas, staffing levels and operational performance
- Drive positive outcomes for children and maintain a therapeutic culture within the home
- Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Previous experience within children’s residential care
- Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma or challenging behaviours
- Strong safeguarding and leadership knowledge
- Good understanding of Ofsted regulations and compliance
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Previous Registered Manager or Deputy Manager experience
- Experience within therapeutic or trauma-informed environments
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management and attachment-informed practice
