Location: Bacup\\n\\nMental Health Support Worker\\n\\nJob Purpose:\\n\\nThe Mental Health Support Worker will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with mental health needs. This role involves working closely with service users to promote their recovery, independence, and well-being, while ensuring their safety and dignity.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Deliver personalised support plans that reflect the individual needs, choices, and goals of service users.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Support service users in their daily living activities, including personal care, medication, meal preparation, and community access.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Build trusting relationships with service users, offering emotional support, guidance, and companionship.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Monitor and record progress, reporting any concerns or changes in mental health to the relevant healthcare professionals.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Encourage participation in social and recreational activities to promote inclusion and well-being.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, family members, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Adhere to safeguarding procedures and promote the health, safety, and welfare of all individuals in your care.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Assist in crisis situations, applying de-escalation techniques and following agreed intervention strategies.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Maintain accurate records, including care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and respect at all times in accordance with policies and procedures.\\n\\nEssential Skills and Experience:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Experience in providing support to individuals with mental health needs or other complex needs.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and person-centred care principles.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Empathy, patience, and resilience in supporting individuals through their recovery journey.\\n\\nDesirable but not essential\\n\\n * \\n\\n NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care\\n\\n * \\n\\n Mandatory training in areas such as medication administration, safeguarding, first aid, and de-escalation (can be provided by employer).\\n\\n * \\n\\n Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.\\n\\n * \\n\\n Experience working in supported living or residential care settings
