Shift Pattern: Rotational (includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Temp to Perm)
Salary: Hourly rate for the first 12 weeks, followed by a permanent role with Annual CTCA
Are you an experienced support worker with a background in care homes and a passion for supporting children with autism? We are seeking dedicated professionals in the Preston area to join our team, providing person-centred care in a structured and supportive environment for children with autism and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and supervision to children with autism in care home or supported living settings
- Assist with daily routines including personal care, meals, and engaging developmental activities
- Support emotional and behavioural regulation using autism-informed and trauma-sensitive approaches
- Encourage independence and participation through structured, play-based, and therapeutic interventions
- Work collaboratively with families, clinical teams, and other professionals to deliver consistent care
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring all safeguarding and compliance protocols are followed
What Weβre Looking For:
- Experience working in a care home setting (essential)
- Previous experience supporting children with autism or complex learning disabilities
- Strong knowledge of autism spectrum conditions, sensory needs, and communication styles
- Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to care
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
