We are recruiting an experienced Children’s Home Registered Manager to open and lead a new children’s home in Gloucester. This is an opportunity to shape a new residential service for young people who have experienced adversity, creating a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment where they can grow, stabilise, and thrive.
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading the home, supporting your team, and ensuring young people receive high-quality care, safeguarding, and consistent support.
- Lead the opening and day-to-day running of a new children’s home
- Manage, motivate, and support a stable residential care team
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding, care, and quality assurance
- Create a warm, structured, and child-centred home environment
- Advocate strongly for young people and ensure their voices are heard
- Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Prepare the service for registration, inspection, and ongoing regulatory scrutiny
- Drive continuous improvement across care practice, outcomes, and team performance
- Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and wider support networks
Experience managing or deputising within a children’s residential setting is required, along with a strong track record of working with vulnerable children and young people. A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework for children’s homes and strong safeguarding knowledge with a clear focus on quality is essential.
Qualifications:
- QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent
- Eligibility to register with Ofsted as Registered Manager
