Painter & Decorator - Standard nights Sunday – Thursday The Role Key Grp Limited is looking for an experienced Painter and Decorator with strong taping and filling skills to join our team.

You will prepare and finish surfaces to a high standard across a variety of commercial projects.

This will include taping and filling plasterboard joints, completing surface repairs, and applying paint and other finishes.

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, take pride in their work, and be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a site team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tape and fill plasterboard joints, corners and fixings.
  • Apply jointing compounds and fillers to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
  • Sand and prepare completed areas ready for decoration.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding and applying primers or sealers.
  • Fill cracks, holes and surface imperfections using suitable materials.
  • Mix and apply paints, stains, varnishes and other coatings.
  • Apply finishes using brushes, rollers or spraying equipment.
  • Match colours and finishes to the required specifications.
  • Protect surrounding areas using masking materials and dust sheets.
  • Complete touch-ups and repairs where required.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Work safely from ladders, access equipment and scaffolding where required.
  • Communicate effectively with Site Managers, Project Managers and other team members.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and hours worked. This list is not exhaustive, and other reasonable duties may be required. About You Essential requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator within commercial, residential or industrial environments.
  • Experience in taping, jointing and filling plasterboard.
  • Strong surface preparation and finishing skills.
  • Knowledge of different paint types, finishes and application methods.
  • Ability to use brushes, rollers, spraying equipment and relevant decorating tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to undertake work involving bending, lifting and working at height.
  • Full UK driving licence
