We do not have sponsorships available. Flexibility and the ability to work a minimum of 30 hours a week is essential for this role.
Hours of work: Days 0800-2200 hrs and Nights 2200-0800 hrs, flexibility required.
Drivers with a UK Drivers Licence and 12 months UK Driving experience is required. Minimum of 2 years experience supporting adults with enhanced needs.
Sammy has Learning Difficulties, multiple medical needs, is non-verbal, uses an iPad to communicate and hand signs, and can make needs known. You will be positive, person-centred and committed to the highest standards of care and support. Must be flexible to cover days and nights.
Key Care & Support are looking for a skilled and values-driven Support Worker to join the team to support Sammy, a 26-year-old man, to enable him to live a meaningful, active and fulfilling life, while leading a staff team to deliver high quality, person-centred support.
Sammy has a great sense of pride in his appearance and a wide range of interests. He responds well to positive relationships, encouragement and consistency. Sammy enjoys staying active, spending time in the community and taking part in social activities such as live music events, discos and karaoke nights.
The role involves:
- Ensuring support is proactive, respectful and focused on quality of life
- Ensuring a consistent and reflective approach
- Understanding why behaviours occur and responding in ways that reduce stress and promote well-being
- Working collaboratively with Sammy's family and professionals
- Supporting Sammy to develop skills, make choices and have a strong voice in decisions about his life, routines and activities
Sammy enjoys many activities, these include swimming, karaoke, using swings and rocking chairs, jet washing the car, simple food preparation and baking, walks, visiting Barton Aerodrome, listening to music, visiting the Trafford Centre, visiting museums and galleries and cafés, walks on the beach and watching TV.
