Are you an experienced Chemical Operative looking for your next opportunity within the chemical industry?
We are recruiting on behalf of Banner Chemicals for a Chemical Operative to join their friendly and established team in Middlesbrough.
This is a hands-on role within a busy chemical manufacturing environment, offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to play an important part in the safe and efficient movement, manufacture and despatch of products.
If you have previous chemical industry experience, a good understanding of safe working practices and enjoy being part of a practical, team-focused environment, this could be a great next step.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Area Leader, your responsibilities will include
- Delivering finished goods from the production line to the warehouse in line with site procedures and production schedules.
- Assisting with the manufacture, packing, labelling and despatch of products and blends.
- Handling empty packaging and hazardous and non-hazardous products, including bulk tankers and packed goods.
- Loading and offloading road tankers and HGVs.
- Working safely and efficiently to help ensure daily KPIs are achieved.
- Reporting production issues to the Area Leader.
- Identifying and suggesting opportunities to improve processes and working practices across the site.
What are we looking for?
To be considered for this Chemical Operative position, you will need
- Previous experience working within the chemical industry.
- A good knowledge and understanding of safe working practices.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to follow safe operating procedures consistently.
It would also be advantageous if you have
- A Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
- Knowledge or experience of filling equipment, including flow meters, filling machines and various pumps.
