Financial Controller | Bingley
We are recruiting on behalf of a small but ambitious business who are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to manage accounts and finance operations.
This is a fast-paced business that requires a commercially minded qualified accountant who is happy in a stand-alone role managing the finance function.
General Details
Location: Cross Flatts, Bingley
Salary: circa £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an excellent opportunity to lead on financial reporting while also handling transactional duties, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, and reconciliations.
You will work closely with the directors, helping shape the company\’s financial direction and supporting future growth through sound commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide financial analysis, insights, and commentary to help senior management make informed business decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and financial regulations.
- Manage transactional finance tasks, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, and reconciliations.
- Improve financial processes and implement robust financial controls.
- Support external audits and the preparation of statutory accounts in collaboration with accountants.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align financial and commercial strategies.
What We\’re Looking For:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT Level 4 qualification.
- Experience in producing management accounts and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Hands-on experience in bookkeeping and transactional finance.
- Proactive and commercial mindset with the ability to drive financial improvements and efficiencies.
- Comfortable in a stand-alone finance role, with the ambition to progress into a leadership position.
- Happy to adapt to new systems however experience with Xero would be particularly useful.
