Salary
£40 per session (£120 per regatta).
Role Overview
Sessional Rowing Coach for Kew House School Boat Club. Responsible for assisting all squad sessions and focusing on the J16 squad. Works under the Head of Rowing.
Responsibilities
- Assist all squad sessions.
- Focus on the J16 squad.
- Coach and accompany students to sporting fixtures on Saturdays, occasional Sundays and holidays.
- Prepare and run up to 9+ sessions a week during term.
- Conduct weekday sessions between 12.45 and 18.30.
- Plan and organise training sessions, domestic and international camps.
- Maintain understanding of the school’s aims, objectives and ethos.
Schedule
Weekday sessions: 12.45 – 18.30. Saturday training typically seniors in the morning, juniors in the afternoon. Times and venues vary during holidays.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Availability to work Saturdays, occasional Sundays and holidays.
- Clear understanding of the academic and pastoral frameworks and their inter‑relation with sporting activity.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening and DBS checks.
Facilities
Partnership with Quintin Boat Club on the tidal Thames. Competitive fleet for J14‑J18. New gym at Pier House.
Curriculum & Events
Rowing scheduled during games and extra‑curricular club sessions. Camps and key rowing events including National Schools’ Regatta, Henley Women’s Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta.
