This role is all about delivering a safe, engaging and commercially successful leisure experience while leading a team to be at their best. You’ll work closely with the Leisure Club Manager, helping to lead the team, maintain high standards and ensure every member and guest has a positive, welcoming experience. You’ll play a key role in balancing service, safety and commercial performance, while developing your leadership capability in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

You’ll support the management of the leisure club, ensuring it operates efficiently, safely and delivers a high-quality experience for all users. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the point of contact in the absence of the Leisure Club Manager, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Supervising the leisure team, providing guidance, support and feedback to maintain high standards.
  • Conducting member inductions and supporting group exercise programmes aligned to member needs.
  • Ensuring the club is clean, safe and presented to a high standard at all times.
  • Completing and overseeing daily, weekly and monthly health & safety checks.
  • Supporting achievement of club KPIs including membership growth, retention and revenue targets.
  • Managing cash handling processes, stock control and reporting in line with company procedures.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives to drive new memberships and secondary revenue streams.
  • Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, hygiene and pool plant standards.
  • Supporting training, coaching and development of Leisure Assistants to build a strong team.

About You

You’re a natural team leader with a passion for delivering excellent service and creating a positive environment for both members and colleagues. We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in a leisure, fitness or hospitality supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with members and guests.
  • Proactive and organised, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of membership growth and revenue drivers.
  • A calm and professional approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to health, safety and compliance standards.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for the leisure industry.
  • A First Aid qualification and a recognised fitness or leisure qualification (Level 2 or above).
