Job Overview

NB: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required and to follow all HR policies and procedures, including the Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.

To plan and carry out deliveries to Kew Electricals customers, so as to maintain and develop the service relationship with those customers, in accordance with an agreed business plan.

To ensure stores are ais stocked within guidelines; having items stock controlled within Agathos system, clearly identified, bin located and stored / picked in a safe/effective manner.

Driver

  • Maintain a safe and effective multi-drop delivery service to profit centre customers.
  • Drive in a safe and lawful manner, ensuring our brand is not brought into disrepute.
  • Plan and make deliveries per profit centre request to ensure fuel and mileage efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle, filing weekly vehicle checks to the Divisional Secretary and reporting any necessary issues immediately.
  • Respond to enquiries from customers in a positive and helpful manner, referring to your profit centre as necessary.
  • Report any traffic offences or accidents to the Profit Centre or Divisional Office immediately.

Stores

  • Ensure stock arriving at warehouse is accepted, signed for and entered into the stock control system in a timely manner.
  • Report breakages and/or missing items to the supplier as soon as possible from any delivery.
  • Put away stock in a timely and safe manner, using forklift truck where necessary and only when trained to do so.
  • Ensure that orders received in the department are picked accurately against the documentation, packed effectively and any missing items, shortages or inaccessible items are identified to department team leader/manager.
  • Ensure inter profit centre transfers are dealt within an effective manner, ensuring they are ready for collection from link van drivers.
  • Chase any supplier that has not collected returns within two‑month period.
  • Assist in the preparation and count process for any company stocktake.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe and manageable working environment, adhering to all safe working practices, ensuring any accidents or near misses are reported to PCM / Divisional Office immediately.

Skills And Experience

  • Valid, clean driving licence.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous stores experience preferably within electrical wholesale environment.
  • Strong understanding of stores, goods inwards processes.
  • Knowledge of computerised storage systems.

Within this role you will be expected to have and be able to

  • Follow established store and delivery procedures (routine tasks).
  • Work independently with periodic reviews by the Profit Centre Manager.
  • Ensure safe handling and protection of goods in transit and storage.
  • Liaise with internal staff at Kew.
  • Regularly interact with delivery companies and customers.
  • Professional appearance when representing the company.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
