Air Export Clerk in Heathrow

Our client is looking for a dynamic Airfreight Export Clerk to join their team at London Heathrow. The successful candidate will oversee air freight operations, supporting the manager with leading a team to ensure compliant, timely and profitable shipment processing, arranging export shipments and managing customs brokerage for high value goods in line with client requirements.
Plan and manage air freight shipments from start to finish, including customs clearance in both the UK and at the destination, in line with customer requirements.
Issue MAWB, HAWB, manifest, and any other required shipping documents.
Prepare and submit customs documentation, including export declarations, export licenses, CITES, and ATA Carnets, and apply for Carnets and CITES permits as required.
Communicate with clients and internal teams to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues that may arise.
Support other members of the export team as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Update shipping files and internal systems, while consistently keeping customers informed of their shipment status.
Liaise with airlines in a professional manner in order to meet operational requirements and maintain up-to-date schedule information and shipment status reports.
Ensure all quality controls procedures are updated and adhered to.
Prepare and complete quotations and invoicing accurately and on time
Experience in freight forwarding / logistics is a must, preferably specialised in the movement of high value goods, Aircaft parts and The Far East
Possess a positive and professional customer focus and can-do attitude.
Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Works well under pressure and is able to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Knowledge of customs regulations and export procedures required.
Knowledge of AS400/SAP/MS Office is preferable.
Knowledge of CDS for customs purposes.
English language required
No criminal convictions – subject to full DBS check.
