Job Description
Our client located in the Heathrow area is looking for a Traffic Planner Salary £30k dependant on age/experience
This role is Monday to Friday 0830 -1800 approx., however whilst getting familiarized with the role you will need to be available evenings and weekends as backup
Out line of the Role:
The main goal of the Planner is optimizing asset utilization, load factor and minimizing route cost while keeping customer performance high and stable for own assets.
Working as part of a team with close communication between drivers and other team members.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of logistics
- Knowledge of customs procedures
- Knowledge of and interest in automated planning systems
- Knowledge of logistics and planning principles
- Knowledge of drivers hours and transport legislation
- Basic knowledge of cost price calculations
- Able to express in English
Duties:
Planning of the movement of aircraft engines, related components and exceptional cargo on a 24/7, 365 basis.
- Interfacing with blue chip client and business professionals on a daily base.
- Is responsible for planned on-time performance
- Is responsible for empty running and load factor
- Is responsible for the planned route cost, concerning toll and kilometres within his region
- Is responsible for providing service with a range of specialised vehicles
- Steers on truck productivity
- Ensuring the smooth and calm running of a very busy team
- Takes care of optimizing the load factor while minimizing empty running
- Takes care of minimizing the planned route cost by optimizing the planned route
- Plan’s fuelling in a trip based on fleet planners’ requests
- Active communication with colleagues across the EU, freight planning, expedition, customer service, truck planners and fleet service
