Our client is seeking a Logistics & Operations Co-Ordinator to join their growing precious metals team. The role involves working directly with their shipping and external partners, in addition to working alongside sales and operations teams. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate quickly and effectively, and will be expected to implement and improve existing policies relating to packing, shipping and storage for precious metals at locations across the UK, Ireland, Spain and Switzerland.
Key Duties
- Arranging shipments to and from refineries and other suppliers
- Arranging and tracking internal shipments between our branches
- Develop and maintain relationships with logistics partners
- Promptly solving any customs issues as they arise
- Assist with reconciliations of stock positions where required
- Maintain communication with sales, trading and accounts teams
- Aid the smooth operation of the company and improve customer experience
- Maintain an accurate and up to date stock management system
- Assist with customer storage billing queries regarding shipping/storage
- Assist company management in resolving operational issues
- Implementing and improving shipping policies and procedures
- Assist with our Safe Deposit Box teams if required
- Ad hoc problem resolution as required
- Occasional weekend work may be required
Key Requirements for the role
- Experience in a logistics or shipping role essential
- Experience in the precious metals or cash in transit or related industries preferred
- Ability to prioritise in a small team and work under time pressure
- Willing to take on additional responsibility
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
