We are looking for someone who can take full ownership of all international shipping operations within the business, as well as the day-to-day running and development of this small department. We are looking for someone who has experience in fine art and high value goods and can bring ideas and improvements to the business. Initially, you would be the sole person within the department, however the long-term plan is for you to help grow and scale the department over time, including eventually recruiting and building your own team as the business continues to grow. Based near to Heathrow the hours are Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm. Salary 40-45k.
Duties Include:
- Manage all export and import shipments end-to-end
- Coordinate international freight movements by air, sea and road
- Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, freight partners and overseas agents
- Prepare international shipping quotations
- Obtain and manage freight rates from suppliers and agents
- Build accurate operational costings
- Support pricing strategy and margin control
- Coordinate with warehouse and transport teams
- Manage shipping workflow within Salesforce
- Help improve systems, workflow and operational structure
Required Skills:
- Experience within international shipping, freight forwarding or specialist logistics
- Experience preparing freight quotations and operational costings
- Strong understanding of import/export operations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
