We are parents to our 21 year old son with Down Syndrome, who lives at home with us in central brighton. We are looking recruit a support manager on a full time basis, with hours across a 7 day week. Our son currently attends college Monday to Friday, and needs support mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. He will likely start the transition to live independently away from home in the next year or so, and we need someone trusted and known to him before we start this process to help and support him. He loves activities such as cinema, football, trampolining, eating out, as well as activities at home. He can be quite anxious at times, and has some medical conditions requiring knowledge and support. The role will build from initial part time hours to full time, but full time hours will be paid from the start. Our son requires someone who is caring, kind, skilled at managing anxiety, fun, and someone who can develop into managing a small team of support workers. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with people with learning difficulties, as well as a driver (a motability vehicle is available for use when working).
