The purpose of the Traffic Management Manager within the client's TM department is to assist in the programming, planning and delivery of Traffic Management; ensuring their team operate within safe working practices and comply with all company policies and procedures. The Traffic Management Manager will ensure compliance with legislation, oversee and implement policy and supporting documentation, engage management and workforce best practice, as well as manage and mentor all TM Operatives and Supervisors.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the Tendering, programming, planning and delivery of TM
  • Ensure compliance with Client specifications, Designs and Legislation
  • Act as 12A,B,C,D Foreman
  • Carry out site visits and pre-works checks
  • Attend site meetings with Clients
  • Liaise with Clients regarding Projects
  • Liaise with Commercial Team regarding costings and issues on site
  • Deliver information, toolbox-talks, memos, briefings and policies company-wide
  • Prepare Works Package Plans
  • Attend monthly SHE Meetings and Departmental Meetings
  • Chair monthly operations meetings with workforce
  • Carry out Inductions/Re-Inductions to new and existing employees
  • Regularly review and monitor Training Matrix and Client Induction Register
  • Liaison with Administrators, Planners, Managers and Suppliers to book training
  • Review and monitor site paperwork
  • Engage Workforce and Management on Health, Safety and Environmental issues and teach best practice
  • Review of SHE initiatives and Lean processes and devise any safety alerts, memos and toolbox-talks company-wide
  • Devise and update Improvement Report and Objectives
  • Carry out site audits
  • Review and monitor SHEQ Policy/Forms
  • Identify, implement and monitor improvement initiatives
  • Monitor fatigue, working hours, driver’s hours and shift management
  • Improve the Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Comply with any Health, Safety, Welfare, Fire and Environmental instructions
  • Be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of themselves and others
  • Monitor, review and report on the use, condition, and availability of TM equipment (quarterly)

Skills, Experience, Knowledge and Qualification

  • Experience of Traffic Management and staff management
  • Relevant qualification as per NHSS 12A,B,C,D i.e Lantra
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to manage your own workload and supervise the work of others concurrently
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: £60-70k
  • Incentive-Based Commission Plan with total earnings potential of £10k annually
