A well-established, fast-paced equipment rental business is looking to recruit a Workshop-Based Powered Access Engineer to support its busy depot operation. This is a hands-on role working on vehicle-mounted powered access platforms (MEWPs) ideal for someone who knows their kit and can keep machines compliant, safe and ready for hire.
The Role
- Carry out pre-delivery inspections on truck-mounted access platforms
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer guidelines and safety standards
- Accurately record work, labour and parts usage via tablet system
- Work closely with senior engineers, parts and operations teams
- Maintain high workshop standards and adhere to H&S at all times
What You Need
- Solid experience working on powered access / MEWPs (ideally vehicle-mounted)
- Background in plant hire, powered access, or equipment rental
- Strong fault-finding skills across hydraulics, electrics and diagnostics
- Relevant engineering / maintenance qualification
- Able to work at pace, prioritise workloads and take ownership
Desirable
- IPAF CAP (Competent Assessed Person) certification - enabling statutory inspections of powered access equipment in line with LOLER/PUWER
- IPAF PAL card
- Strong understanding of inspection standards and compliance requirements
