For over two decades, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering LEV design, installation, testing, maintenance, and compliance services across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, education, aerospace, transport, healthcare, and highly regulated environments. The Role:
- Reporting directly to the Company Directors, the General Manager will take responsibility for the operational, financial, and strategic performance of the business.
- You will provide leadership to a team of approximately 30 employees, ensuring the efficient delivery of projects, statutory inspections, compliance services, and customer support while driving continuous improvement and commercial growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing operational teams across installation, inspection, and support functions
- Working closely with management teams to maximise productivity, efficiency, and service quality
- Conducting site visits throughout the UK to assess standards and identify opportunities for improvement
- Overseeing statutory LEV inspection activities and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards
- Reviewing technical reports for accuracy and quality assurance
- Monitoring business performance, profitability, and margins alongside the Finance Manager
- Driving growth initiatives, innovation, and operational improvements
- Ensuring compliance with accreditation schemes, insurance requirements, and company policies
- Supporting employee development, engagement, and performance management
- Producing regular management reports and KPI updates for Company Directors
- Contributing to the strategic direction and future growth of the business
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Significant experience within the Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) industry
- A proven track record of leadership and business management
- BOHS qualifications P601 and P602 as a minimum
- Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Experience managing operational teams and delivering business growth
- A commitment to maintaining high technical and professional standards
- The ambition to further develop your standing within the industry and work towards Professional Standards Register membership
Package:
- Competitive salary of £60,000–£80,000 depending on experience
- 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays
