The Role
We are looking for a sales manager with full responsibility to target the accounts in the Northwest/Northeast of England. The position requires a highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, experienced and focused sales professional that can operate independently and as part of the larger team driven to succeed on delivering the overall business contract business growth plan. The role is 'hands on' and you will be responsible for managing your customer portfolio.
You must have a good understanding and strong market knowledge of the furniture sector and customer relationships, developing close relationships with the existing customer base and seeking out and engaging with new customers to develop further business opportunities. You will need to develop a close working relationship with business management teams to ensure that all customer requirements are met, managing customer expectations to final completion.
Research prospective untapped relationships and areas of growth that correspond with the overall business growth objectives. You will create a 3-Year growth strategy identifying how we can grow the business with solid go-to-market strategies for each target sector in collaboration with the senior leadership team defining targets and tracking progress and performance.
Job Requirements
- Previous Sales Management or Business Development experience within the furniture market across all furniture categories.
- You will be versatile, adaptable, well connected, and pro-active with a passion to build new business opportunities and work closely with the teams to ensure successful execution.
- Tenacious, highly driven, and able to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment managing heavy workloads and working to deadlines.
- Promote both the company and extensive product ranges.
- Identify new customers and market leads, to further increase our market share and opportunities for the future, whilst satisfying the existing current customer base.
- Managing customer expectations on the existing products and stock requirements with clear communication between the customer supply chain and the fulfilment teams.
- Manage multiple projects collaborating with clients to understand their product/project requirements, deadlines and critical path managing customer expectations in line with the supply chain capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of critical path management providing an accurate and rapid response to all enquiries.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to identify opportunities for product development or improvement.
- Must be organised with good reporting skills and ability to produce monthly reports, project trackers and a vision of the future.
- Develop a clear business plan setting out annual sales targets and action plans with clear objectives and present to the senior leadership monthly.
- Develop and maintain critical connections with partners and industry influencers to produce leads that will eventually drive business development.
- Must have excellent communication and presentation skills, organised and efficient with a high attention to detail and a good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel.
- Feedback marketplace information to the appropriate personnel so that we can all better respond to dealer/customer needs and expectations.
- Maintain a clear record of contacts made, opportunities generated and ensure an efficient system is in place to follow up at the appropriate time.
- Flexibility to work outside the normal business hours and travelling.
- Clean full driving licence (No pending convictions).
