My Client is looking for a high‑calibre Depot Manager to take full ownership of its West Midlands operation. This is not a caretaker role. You will run the depot as if it’s your own business accountable for people, profit, performance and customer delivery. If you’ve managed a materials handling, plant, or equipment hire depot before, you’ll know exactly what this involves.

The Role

  • You will have end‑to‑end responsibility for depot performance, covering service, sales, parts, engineers and customers.
  • Full P&L responsibility for the depot.
  • Leading and developing service, sales, parts and admin teams.
  • Driving revenue growth, utilisation and margin improvement.
  • Ensuring service delivery, uptime and SLAs are met.
  • Managing engineer productivity and depot efficiency.
  • Owning customer relationships and resolving escalations decisively.
  • Enforcing H&S, compliance and operational standards.
  • Recruiting, coaching and retaining high-performing staff.
  • Reporting on performance and executing regional strategy locally.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Depot Manager / Branch Manager experience.
  • Background in materials handling, forklifts, plant, powered access or hire.
  • Strong commercial acumen, understands numbers, margins and recovery.
  • Confident leader who holds people to account.
  • Comfortable making tough decisions and managing pressure.
  • Customer‑focused but commercially firm.
