We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our catering team and support them on an ad-hoc basis. You’ll be responsible for working as part of a team to deliver meals and refreshments to customers living in our independent living villages across Stoke-on-Trent, ensuring a high standard of customer service and compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Job Requirements
- Support the Cook and Catering Team Leader in delivering a great service through the delivery of meals and refreshments.
- Respond to customer requests for hot and cold food and drinks during service hours, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and buffets when required.
- Be aware of allergens and customer dietary needs, responding appropriately to comments and requests.
- Help with the preparation and cooking of a variety of meals and food hygienically.
- Assist with stock control and ordering, ensuring all food is stored appropriately.
- Work as part of a team in a friendly and supportive environment to ensure effective kitchen operation and a high standard of cleanliness in all areas, including equipment, service areas, pantry, stores, and dining areas.
- Always work within the standards required for health, safety, and hygienic operation of a kitchen and service area.
- Assist with maintaining all necessary records and logs for the meal service and general maintenance of the kitchen and dining areas.
What We're Looking For
- Basic catering knowledge and skills from some work experience within a catering setting would be an advantage; training can be provided.
- Basic skills and knowledge of food preparation and service delivery.
- A willingness to learn and achieve.
- A friendly and approachable manner to deliver great customer service.
- A flexible approach able to work a variety of days, shifts, and locations to cover service requirements.
- An understanding of customer needs.
- An understanding and ability to follow key principles of food production and hygiene standards.
- Someone who can keep kitchen equipment and service areas clean.
- An ability to perform basic record-keeping for the appropriate management of food production service.
- DBS required.
