You will work with the team to support adults and families within our accommodation services to become tenancy ready and safely move on into settled accommodation. You will provide a tailored, person-centred support package to help our customers transition to independence and live a life free from abuse.
Salary: £25,135.50 a year
Location: Stoke on Trent

Job Requirements
- Help customers transition from safe accommodation to managing their own tenancy, offering group or 1:1 support.
- Assist customers with setting up their home, including utility accounts and other household tasks.
- Provide housing management and welfare benefit guidance, referring customers to appropriate agencies.
- Ensure all work is recorded and compliant with contract and organisational standards.
- Build strong working relationships for multi‐agency support, keeping partners updated and attending relevant meetings.
- Support customers in understanding their rights and responsibilities in accommodation, including a tailored support package to prepare for independence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to increase available properties for customers moving from safe accommodation.
- Take responsibility for personal development, attending training and learning opportunities to continually improve skills and ensure compliance with safeguarding laws.
- Participate in relevant training to share best practices with colleagues and professionals.
What we are looking for
- A good general education, with literacy and numeracy at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Experience providing housing-related support, addressing individual needs, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience handling personal data in compliance with GDPR.
- Understanding of people in abusive relationships.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current issues, laws (including child protection), best practices in domestic abuse, welfare reform, and homelessness.
- Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Knowledge of professional boundaries and safeguarding practices.
- Strong ICT skills, with experience using Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support and advocate for customers.
- Ability to work well within a team and help develop the service.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise high-risk cases.

- Basic DBS check.
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle for work use.
