General responsibilities include:
- Managing staffing levels in line with plans and expectations
- Raising business critical issues
- Ensuring product quality output is to specification
- Overseeing planned maintenance schedules
- Monitoring hygiene, safety and GMP standards
- Empowering Team Managers and motivating your whole team
- Regular communication with the Production Manager and other Department Managers
- Managing and supporting Team Managers to take control of their area and take responsibility for shift targets within that area
- Ensuring staff have the relevant training required for their roles
- Staff appraisals, and when required, other HR related meetings
- Developing your team to their full potential and supporting others who have this responsibility
- Check and pass production plans and targets out to your team
- Check there is the quality and quantity of raw material needed to meet targets
- Manage and encourage productivity rates across your shift
- Check that the final output is to specification, completed in full and within the scheduled timescale
We are looking for proven experience in:
- People management in a leadership position
- Planning and organisational skills, and the ability to cope with a highly demanding target driven environment
- Recruiting, conducting annual appraisals, probation & performance reviews, disciplinary and absence related formal meetings
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Food or similar manufacturing/production
- Food Safety & Hygiene
- Use of best practice and continuous improvement skills to ensure operational and quality targets are achieved/exceeded
- Managing unexpected challenges and changes in priority
- Effectively utilising coaching skills to develop others
- Adheres to all Health & Safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for staff and visitors
Working Hours are 40 hours per week on a rota basis of days and backshift, with every second weekend off. The actual working hours vary on the rota from 06.45 - 14.00, 14.15 - 22.00 and 06.45 - 17.30. (Occasional nightshift working may be required during peak production times).
Salary from - £45,000, depending on experience.
