Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery, and production lines
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime
- Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and other mechanical components
- Ensure compliance with food safety, mechanical, and workplace safety standards
- Support installation and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Collaborate with production and electrical teams to improve equipment reliability
- Participate in shift work or on-call duties as required
Skills
- SVQ3 and HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in an industrial or food processing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial machinery
- Experience working with preventive maintenance programs and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong commitment to safety, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, or similar food safety systems
